David Winterberg

DAVID WINTERBERG WAS BORN 1987 IN SCHWETZINGEN, GERMANY. AT THE AGE OF 15 YRS, WHILE STILL AT SCHOOL, DUE TO HIS PASSION FOR WRITING, HE WORKED AS A FREELANCE JOURNALIST FOCUSING ON MUSIC, FASHION, ART AND FILM. IN 2010 HE ENROLLED AT THE UNIVERSITY OF VIENNA TO STUDY THEATRE, FILM AND MEDIA. HE SOON BEGAN TO WRITE HIS FIRST SCRIPTS AND PLAYS, WHICH LED TO HIS ACCLAIMED 2013 THEATRE PROJECT “THE ANGEL & THE SPARROW“. THE PLAY PREMIERED AT THE BURGTHEATER WIEN, THE MOST IMPORTANT GERMAN LANGUAGE THEATER AND ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT THEATERS IN THE WORLD.

TODAY HE LIVES IN BERLIN, WORKING AS A THEATER AUTHOR, SCREENWRITER AND EXECUTIVE PRODUCER.

HIS PLAYS HAVE BEEN STAGED AT OVER 20+ THEATERS, INCLUDING PRODUCTIONS IN VIENNA (BURGTHEATER), BERLIN (RENAISSANCE THEATER), ZURICH (MAAG HALLE), MONTREAL (SEGAL CENTRE), TORONTO (MIRVISH THEATRE) AND OTHERS.
